Program lessons have been built for grade 6 students for the second trimester. During this year, lessons will be developed for both the grade 7 and grade 8 students. Additionally, clear pathways will be created for MHS students. Lynn Cavicchi asked if the QMS and MHS website pages can be modified to fully explain the various vocational technical programs including the option for seniors to enroll in Southeastern in the afternoons of their senior year and then continue at Southeastern, one year beyond high school graduation. QMS Handbooks and/or Program of Studies will need to be modified to include the pathway information. The new policy is ready to go to school committee. • EFBA: Food services Meal Modification- A final review of this policy to iron out some of the procedural concerns from last meeting. Assistant Superintendent Jessica Davis has confirmed that IEP and 504 information regarding meal modifications is communicated to the nurses and/or food services. Mansfield has chosen to use our own form rather than the one recommended by DESE. Lynn Cavicchi asked if we could confirm that the form contains language regarding IEP and 504 guidance. The new policy is ready to go to school committee. • IHBAA Observation of Special Education Programs- Assistant Superintendent Davis has reviewed the recommended MASC policy with our attorney at Murphy, Hesse, Toomey and Lehane (MHTL). A couple of minor changes were recommended based on that meeting. Aside from some minor, housekeeping edits, the new policy is ready to go to school committee. • 1LCD and 1LCD-R: Administering Medication: The group did an extensive review of this policy and had several questions and recommendations. The policies will be brought back to the Director of Health Services, Christine Dooling for further review.
