Facilities Subcommittee
Minutes 9119/25
A meeting of the Mansfield School Committee Facilities subcommittee was opened and called to
order at 8:01 a.m.
Attendees: Jenifer Sellon, Jenn Walsh, Ed Donoghue, Matt Violette, Patti Hallgren
CIP protects:
The group reviewed the CIP items that had been proposed to the Town Manager in late August.
Some changes were suggested and Matt Violette will update the document, bring it to the
School Committee on September 301h for approval. Unfortunately, the town -wide CIP
committee is meeting on September 29'h which does not allow our committee to officially
approve our list until after that meeting. The group discussed how the school is backed into a
corner each year with their due dates which do not allow us to go through our own proper
channels. Perhaps an internal process for creating CIP items can be reviewed to be prepared for
the town deadlines going forward.
Facilities use fees and process to request use:
• Parent Groups (MESA, PAC)
• Youth Sports

Transition Plan
Ed is taking over some things, Patty to step up, Russ to take over snow removal. Interviews
continue into next week. Hoping to hire someone in the next week, but we're still looking at
probably a month gap between when Matt leaves and the new person starts. Matt is happy to
answer any questions we might have even after he leaves.
Items not anticipated within 48 hours
Do we have a plan for the Roland Green decommissioning? - Matt's suggestion is that we empty
the building as best as we can, dismantle electric, drain the pipes, add antifreeze to the pipes
ASAP. Going to have to look at playground equipment and how to reconfigure Robinson. Need
to look into professional movers for that stuff.
