An Open Meeting of the Mansfield School Committee was held in person and virtually on Thursday, January 30,
2025 in room 3AB of the Town Hall. The open meeting session was called to order by Chair Steve Schoonveld at
6:34 p.m.

Old Business— Superintendent Search:
Discussion on current status: cn CD --
Chair Steve Schoonveld updated the committee on progress to date. The interviews of candidNt'es marred over
four nights. Last night, the search advisory committee met to review all of the candidates along with their
thoughts on each interview. After discussion the finalist list was identified as Elizabeth Legault from East
Bridgewater, Carolyn Lyons from Middleboro and Michelle McKeon from North Attleboro. Each member of the
school committee has received a copy of their resume packets. The final candidates have had a chance to notify
their respective school committees and their names can now be made public.
Consideration of finalists for Superintendent of Schools:
Mr. Schoonveld requested a motion to move the candidates forward.
A motion to move forward the three candidates (Elizabeth Legault, Carolyn Lyons, Michelle McKeon) forward for
the superintendent search as proposed by the Superintendent Search Advisory Committee by Jenn Walsh / Vivian
Webster.

Update regarding stakeholder communication:
The following communication regarding the three finalists will take place tomorrow morning: A PR statement
provided by John Guilfoil Public Relations, Emails to all stakeholders, update to our website, update to Facebook.
Update regarding upcoming meeting schedule and site visits:
Site visits will happen Monday — Wednesday February 3-5th with a lunch break and evening break. One candidate
will visit per day. Finalist interviews will be held on Saturday February 8°i. Several stakeholders have been invited
to participate during the three days. A final schedule will be sent out tomorrow.
In order to prepare for the final interviews, members identified the criteria to be:

The committee also discussed reference checks. The committee will meet next week in more detail regarding the
final questions and references.
Consideration of appointment of school committee negotiating team•
Assuming that one of the three candidates is chosen, the school committee must enter into contract negotiations.
The ideal method to do that is to appoint two members to meet with the candidate. A brief discussion was held
regarding the process and how to best move forward.
Motion to appoint Lynn Cavicchi and Steve Schoonveld to negotiate with the final candidate by Jenn Walsh / Vivian
Webster.
