The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve the minutes from February, 2025. Passes.
A.C. O. Report
• Because of state restrictions, the shelter cannot accept animals from other towns, unless
there is a written mutual aid agreement, such as we have with Foxboro, Norfolk, Millis,
and Medway. Ana and Francesca will work together to get licensing for Mansfield
Shelter Friends so that the shelter can accept surrenders from additional towns.
• The shelter now has nanochips to microchip animals, in house, prior to adoption. For
animals that go to clinics for spay/neuter, chips will be taken to the clinic to reduce cost.
Records will be kept at the shelter, and adopters will receive microchip documentation.
• An in -shelter vet visit contract was created, to be signed by in -shelter vets, the A.C.O.
and M.S.F.
• Francesca will visit the Sunday p.m. shift to meet the new dog shift lead.
Cats
Sharon has a microscope, slides, and equipment to do fecal exams on cats at the shelter, starting
this Saturday.
Miscellaneous
• Ana has scheduled September 20tt' for this year's Celebration of Animals on the South
Common.

• Carol will send an email to shift captains, reminding them of the restricted surrender
procedures, and the volunteer dress code.
• Stephanie Putnam requested that either the tree, or its branch that overhangs the Pet
Memorial Garden, be taken down for the benefit of the Garden.
• Stephanie plans to walk in the sestercentennial celebration parade. She has cat and dog
costumes, and she will carry a banner. Carol may join her.
