Manager Sollecito said they would be discussing MMED's participation in the MMWEC Special Project 2021A which is very similar to MMWEC's 2022A project. He provided a memo of explanation of a `MMWEC Special Project' from KP Law. From that memo, if the Board of Commissioners vote to participate, then the obligation is tied to MMED not the Town. Manager Sollecito told the Board that when MMWEC is establishing a special project, they want to get an idea of who is interested then when they come up with the final cost, there will be a vote. If the Board agrees tonight to move forward, MMED would only be tied in for the research and development costs. Matt Ide (MMWEC) explained the details of the proposed off shore wind project. Details cannot be released until after all contracts are executed. Mayhew Seavey (PLM) also reviewed the proposed MMWEC project and spoke of the advantages of such a project in MMED's portfolio.
