The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve the minutes from November 21, 2024. Passes.
A.C. O. Report
• Jackie Curtis will foster Pudge, and will pick him up tomorrow.
• Pepper has a microchip. He will need a vet appointment.
• As a revised policy on dealing with callers who want to surrender animals, shift captains
should include in their daily updates information including the name, phone number, and
type of animal potentially surrendered. Mary, Carol, or Sharon will then respond to the
caller to screen the surrender, and forward the information to A.C.O. Francesca if
necessary.
Cats
Two cats, belonging to a former volunteer who is seriously ill, will be surrendered on Saturday.

Miscellaneous
• Carol would like to post on Facebook the advantages of spaying and neutering. Sharon
suggested adding a Tip of the Month on Facebook.
• Carol has an updated Wish List that she will send to Mary for posting on the website.
• Vanessa requested removal of what she considers inhumane traps for mice, which are
currently placed in spots around the shelter. Instead, she recommends prevention:
keeping dry food in sealed bins, and plugging mouse holes. Vanessa would like to revisit
the question at the February meeting, after we see how preventative measures work.
