Annual Town Report Jeff Ward worked with i4,pit Rhein to prepare the KMB information for the town's annual report which was submitted a! the end gf January2025. Traffic Box WrapF Pat Colbert presented several 3D options to the committee that were designed by Karen Reardon for the traffic box wrap at Rte, ,106 and Hope Street traffic light'viteAeotion. The wrap design that the'committee liked"best includes vibrant pansies = a signature of KMB's spring downtown flower barrels. The committee members would like to see'a few more yellow pansies interspersed with the current purple and reddish florals. There is also white space on the front around the KMB logo. There was some concern raised thei the+amount of white space and logo detracted from4he artistic purpose of the wrap. The 1 committee agreed that the KMB logo is important to the design. Pat Colbert will contact Karen Reardon to ask if she can add more flowers to reduce the amount of white space around the logo and/or possibly place the KMB logo nearer the bottom;front or side of the wrapAince,Karen has extensive design There was some discussion regarding placement of the Town of Mansfield Seal on box design. The committeeldecided to omit that seal as'°it.detracts from the design. If we learn it will be required, Karen can likely place, iton the back ofthe -wrap, design.,; Based on Karen's responses to the committee's feedback, we hope Karen can provide an updated design that can be voted on at the March meeting and taken to the Town Manager and BOS for approval. Karen may need to consult with the wrap vendor about placements, measurements, etc. The wrap vendor requires Ir2 weeks' nottge prior to ttewrap installation. If we want to getOe wrap installedby the 2501 celebration paradelin, May', we should, fnalize design at the March meeting. Funding forthe wrap was already approved (cost for prep and wrap installation approx. roo-$1K). pg. 3 25011 Anniversary Discussion Nancy Griffin `attended our KMB meeting tonight and we discussed possibWactivitie0item"s that KMB can contribute to the 2501 Committee. There is $8k left in the project budget and the remaining work wilt be scheduled for completion this Spring as soon as the weather permits. Originally, $5k of the remaining funds was slated to fund the additional art/full mural revarnish and the remaining $3k could be used to cover the costs of link future necessary touch-up work on vandalized areas of the mural as well as any new future artwork. Those, remaining finds would revert into the mural account for possible future maintenance. Since the committee would, like toget the project finished, before ,the events, tied to the town's 2501s Anniversary occur, the committee discussed getting any major touch-ups and the total revamish job completed without adding new artwork to the mural: This would ensure the muralwould be ready for display -at the anniversary'' celebrations. Kelley Kemp will need to discuss and negotiate proposed remaining work costs and schedule with the artist's manager. The current contract with the mural artist willalso-need to be.amended. The Garden Club is planning to do something using the gladiola theme in their gardens for the celebration. The pollinator garden at Jordan Jackson School still needs to be adopted. Ana Newell received grant funding for the new garden and arranged the prep and planting activities this past Fall. KMB hoped to get an item about the new garden posted in the school newsletter.
