An Open Meeting of the Mansfield Superintendent Search Advisory Committee was held in person on Wednesday,
January 15 2025. The open meeting session was called to order by Chair Steve Schoonveld at 6:34 p.m.

Approval of Minutes:
Motion to approve the Search Advisory Committee minutes from 1-8-25 by Scott Feely / Scott Cohen
Motion carries: 12 - 0 (Ms. Ortiz arrived just as the vote ended.)
Discussion and consideration of interview questions for advisory committee search.
A list of preliminary questions was distributed to each member. These questions were submitted by the
committee members after the January 81' meeting. Glenn Koocher of MASC reviewed and edited the questions.
The committee reviewed each question, consolidated and clarified where needed. A tentative order of questions
was discussed. Co-chairs Cavicchi and Schoonveld will finalize the draft and send it to MASC.
A discussion was held regarding the specifics of the upcoming interviews. It was decided that 2 candidates would
be interviewed each night over 4 nights. Interviews will take place at Jordan/Jackson room A102. Each interview
will last for 75 minutes with a 15-minute break in between. A timekeeper will ensure that the interview moves
along. If there are any weather issues, then January 29" will be a make up date.
Enter into Executive Session not to return to Open Session pursuant to MGL c. 30A, § 21(a) Under Exception No.
8. To consider or interview applicants for employment or appointment by a preliminary screening committee if the
chair declares that an open meeting will have a detrimental effect in obtaining qualified applicants; provided,
however, that this clause shall not apply to any meeting, including meetings of a preliminary screening committee,
to consider and interview applicants who have passed a prior preliminary screening.

Through a series of discussion and polls, the initial list of candidates was narrowed down to 8 candidates to be
interviewed by the Search Advisory Committee. MASC will schedule these interviews tomorrow for the evenings
of January 21, 22, 23 and 27. Note that Ms. Bren had to leave the meeting after candidate discussion but prior to
the final vote.
