Present: Marianne E. Staples, Town Clerk; Robert O'Connell, Kelly Crowley
Ms. Staples explained the state now requires towns to "opt out" of Vote by Mail for
local elections, which requires a vote of the Select Board. That requires a
recommendation from the Board of Registrars of Voters. If that vote isn't taken, the
town would have to mail ballots to all voters who have indicated they want to Vote by
Mail.
Ms. Staples explained voters are still able to request Absentee ballots and can vote
early in person for the local election in the Town Clerk's Office. She noted Vote by
Mail is here to stay for state and federal elections.
Motion: To recommend the Select Board vote to opt out of Vote by mail for the May
13, 2025 local election (O'Connell -Crowley) All in favor. PASSES
3. Adjournment
Motion: To adjourn at 3:40 p:m. (Staples -O'Connell) All in favor. PASSES
