Review of FY26 proposed school -based fees:
Ed Donoghue and Teresa Murphy presented a list of proposed changes along with detailed information
for each set of fees. Minor changes were made to the document which will continue to be fine tuned
for a final presentation on December 3. l

Discussion regarding CIP reductions:
Ed noted that the J/J Roof MSBA application will be due in January/Februarywith a request of
approximately $4 million. The J/J chiller is not MSBA eligible. He also noted that the fall town meeting
warrant opens on Wednesday.

The district has recommended the following reduction in scope and cost to CIP items for the fall town l
meeting:
• Rooftop HVAC unit replacements reduced from $250,000 to $100,000. j
• District -wide paving and concrete replacement reduced from $300,000 to $250,00 j

Review of District FY26 budget proposal:
The group reviewed the draft of the December presentation. Ed Donoghue has reached out to Connolly
Bus in an attempt to renegotiate the contract. He is also working on a potential price lock for our gas i
contract. Regarding special education, the group discussed early figures with notes that the numbers
will be clearer in April
We have been informed by the town that an increase in unemployment costs will cause another impact
to the FY26 budget. Steve suggested that these are typically one-time expenses and reserves should be
used rather than the operating budget. The committee asked for a history of net school spending as
well as various FTE reports.
Discussion regarding budget narrative:
The subcommittee discussed the language that will be needed to support the budget presentation in
