An Open Meeting of the Mansfield School Committee was held in person and virtually on Tuesday,
September 19, 2024. The open Tri-Board meeting session called was called to order by Chair Steve
Schoonveld at 6:05 p.m.

Members of the Finance Committee, Select Board, School Committee and Budget Subcommittee
convened to discuss the FY26 Budget. Assistant Town Manager Matt Violette presented a series of
slides. Discussion included the FY26 budget timeline, revenue sources, potential budget increases, and
projected shortfalls/outlook. Conversation focused on the need/desire to seek an override vs the
reductions needed to create a balanced budget. Each committee voted on budget planning.
Motion to vote to approve the recommendation by the Budget Subcommittee to develop two budget
scenarios one based on an override and one based on a balanced budget without an override by Jenn
Walsh / Lynn Cavicchi
