Minutes 09/06/24
A meeting of the Mansfield School Committee Facilities subcommittee was opened and called to order
at 8:03am.
Attendees: Jenifer Sellon, Jenn Walsh, Matt Jacques, Ed Donoghue
Minutes for 03-21-24 were approved 2 — 0.
Facilities Usage Fees
Discussion of fees, who to charge and how much. We agreed that there should be a discount for
Mansfield youth sports, but not other town's youth sports. Per the policy today, the fields are the only
facilities we charge for at this time - we should add in the internal locations (gym, cafeteria, etc.).
Discussed imposing a cancellation fee if not cancelled within 48 hours to deter overbooking and non -
usage. Since many groups aren't paying now we discussed creating a tiered approach, to give groups a
couple of years to ramp up. Matt to draft a plan and send it us to react to and discuss at the next
meeting.
Current Capital Projects
• Playground open at Robinson! A couple more items are needed - on time, under budget
• Alumni Field - track painting needs to be done - field is done. Lanes need to be painted in the
next week (tentative 9/16-17) or so. We can start using the field next week (Mon).
• Gym - Students have seen it and love it. Bleachers & Dividing curtain come on 9/10 need a
week or so to install. Backboards are delayed
• Boiler at QMS - hot water is back on. Expect to fire the boilers on 9/17
• Elevators - in MHS and QMS workingl
Summer Cleaning/Start of School
• All school inspections were done before the start; had great occupancy walkthroughs with no
issues.
• 48 work orders came in during the first week.
End of year lunch - sponsored by a vendor
Upcoming projects
• Lights for Performing Arts — received bids
