The School Committee must evaluate our needs based on the architectural study and present our priorities at the next meeting. Steve Schoonveld noted that this will be a multistep/multiyear process. We need to whittle down to our key priorities even if we cannot discuss funding options this year. Teresa emphasized her own priority to be Roland Green. We are running out of space while at the same time getting higher number of referrals for early intervention. Additionally, DESE has now stated that school districts must provide EL services starting at the preschool level. The building itself is the oldest in the district. Several options were discussed including changing the grade levels in the buildings. Other priorities discussed included the building of a new high school or middle school to help gain community support. Many other districts have built new schools. Our proposals should be indicated in phases over the next 10+ years. It was also noted that our science labs are in desperate need of upgrades. School Councils must be part of any decisions made regarding upgrades. Priorities established were: 1. Roland Green — move to the Robinson School (construction of an addition is required) 2. Build a new high school 3.
