1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM.
2. Minutes of the Recreation Commission Meeting from July 30, 2024.
Motion: By Linda McCabe to approve the Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes
from July 30, 2024 as written. Seconded by Ed Westhaver.
Motion passes, 5-0.
3. Visitors:
• Arnie Gardner- Mansfield Youth Soccer
4. Facility Requests:
Motion: By Ed Westhaver to approve Mansfield Youth Flag Football Fall field request,
Memorial Park- Lower Memorial Saturdays, August 31— November 16,
8:00am-3:00pm. Seconded by Chris Leard. Motion passes, 5-0.
Motion: By Chris Leard to approve Mansfield Garden Club's request for the Annual
Fall Festival at the Mansfield Community Co -Operative Gardens, Sunday
October 27,10:00am — 2:00pm. Seconded by Linda McCabe.
Motion passes, 5-0.
5. Old Business:
• The Commission discussed the MYS draft letter detailing Recreation's concern with the
repeated violation of the Facility Reservation Policy,
Motion: By Ed Westhaver to approve the draft letter as written with the following
addition; Please be advised, future continued violations may result in further
action taken by the Recreation Commission. Seconded by Chris Leard.
Motion passes, 5-0.
• Linda McCabe- 250'h Celebration Committee Meeting -
No update as the next Committee is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28. An event
update will be presented at the September Recreation Commission Meeting.
• Patrick Latchaw- There have been no Open Space Committee Commission Meetings over
the last month, no current update.
• Christine Leard stated there were no meetings and are no new updates regarding the
Memorial Park Master Plan Study.
• Sherri Gurnon stated there were no meetings and no updates to report in regard to the 50
West Street project.
• The Commission plans to attend a fall Board of Library Trustees Meeting.
6. New Business:
• Memorial Park & Plymouth Street Tennis Court Discussion with Matt Violette
Design Fee- $172,00 FY25 Free Cash Fall 2025 Town Meeting
Construction- $3.4 FY26 Debt Exclusion
• Mansfield Youth Soccer has returned their Turf Field Fall permit Monday & Wednesday
evenings. A permit has been issued to NEFC on behalf of John Barrata / Aaron Salter
Monday & Wednesday evenings, 4:30-8:30pm, still awaiting COI.
• Motion: By Ed Westhaver to increase the Summer Camp registration fees as
followers, Residents: $130.00 per week / Non -Residents: $150.00 per week.
Seconded by Chris Leard. Motion passes, 5-0.
• Arts & Crafts Show- South Common, Saturday, October 5, 9:00am-3:00pm
• Halloween Parade- South Common, Saturday, October 26, 11:00am, volunteers needed
7. Next Commission Meeting: Tuesday, September 24, 2024 6:00pm

Motion passes, 5-0.
