Reflection Stories Proposal Genealoav Workshops (hftps://aahgs-ne.orgo Joyce Stamps or someone from the African American Genealogical Society will come to have workshops for Mansfield community members. We will learn about our ancestors and try to go as far back as 1775 for the story to share on Cable. Discussion Grouts It will be good to hold Discussion groups to discuss what we are discovering about our ancestry. What hard truths we need to reconcile. How do we feel about that? What do we want to know more about? How do we hold complicated histories, feelings, rights or wrongs all at once? What do we wish was different? What was a help or opportunity or something to be grateful for? What is still feeling hard? What might help heal us? Cultural Celebration Bring something to share: food, artifacts, clothing, etc. Share something you want to hold on to that you learned about your culture. Share something that you want to let go of, something painful, that you learned about your culture. Mansfield Cable Recorded Stories It's 1775. Choose an ancestor's story that means something to you. Summarize that ancestor's life. Where did they live? What were they doing? Fast forward to you today in Mansfield, how does this ancestor show up in your life now? What do you want Mansfield to remember about you and your history? Relate that to our community and what that means for you! Mansfield Cable Airs our Reflection Stories throughout 2025.
