Mansfield School Committee Meeting
Executive Session Minutes for Tuesday, October 10, 2023

The committee adjourned from open session
• Under Exception No. 3. To discuss strategy with respect to collective bargaining or litigation
if an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the bargaining or litigating position of
the public body and the chair so declares (Food Services Bargaining Unit)
This is a follow up meeting concerning salaries of food services employees. A Memorandum Of
Agreement (MOA) was written to cover a one-time increase of $1.50 per hour which will then be used
as the basis for future increases.Rates are effective the first work day of the 2023-24 school year. It
notes also that other Mansfield bargaining units agree that this MOA is without precedent and will not
be used to open other contracts in the future.
Ed Donoghue feels that this addresses retention and changing workloads. All other unions are in
support of this. Steve Schoonveld asked if we need Town Manager approval. We do not.
Motion to approve the MOA for food services by Jenifer Sellon / Vivian Webster.
