Executive Session Minutes for Thursday, August 19, 2021

Called to order at 7:08 p.m.
Under Exception No. 3: To discuss strategy with respect to collective bargaining or litigation if
an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the bargaining or litigating position of the
public body and the chair so declares.
Superintendent Murphy scheduled this meeting with the understanding that negotiations may
be needed before teachers returned to school this fall. However, District leadership met with
union leadership (Scott Cohen, Kevin McGovern and Tim Carpentier) to discuss universal
masking. 'Additionally it was stated that per DESE guidance at this time there are no plans for
remote learning during the 2021-22 school year.
Discussions were held on various aspects of return to school. Most everything right now is a
what -if since we do not know how our health metrics will be in the fall.
Kiera O'Neil called for a motion to leave executive session not to return to open meeting.
