Approve Minutes Motion: To approve the minutes from February 15, 2024. Passes. Shelter Maintenance • AWC had hoped that streetlights could be turned on for every pole on the shelter road. However, there are lights only on every other pole. • Francesca reported that Sherwin Williams has offered to paint the shelter interior as a volunteer project. Work will start sometime around April I". The kennel will be first on the project, and then work will move into the cattery and reception area. • It has been more than a year since AWC requested lighting for the dog play yard so that volunteers can work outside with the dogs at night. Since no lights have been installed, AWC will send a request letter to the Electric Department. Carol has offered to draft the letter. • Excess bits of lumber from the dog agility structures are currently outside the shelter near the HVAC station. Volunteers will remove the lumber to the dumpster. Dogs • Tiramisu's next court date is April 18"'. • Dream will be muzzle trained since she is reactive to small dogs, and can pull extremely strongly on the leash when small dogs are nearby. Page 1 of 2 Cats • Three new cats were surrendered today: two kittens and a one year old, intact male. The adult cat might have eye problems. • Sharon received a donation of many two-piece litter boxes from Rolf Hagan. The shelter will keep some of the boxes, and give others away to adopters. Representatives from Rolf Hagan might come to the Celebration of Animals in the fall to set up a table selling pet supplies. • Harrison will have a dental vet visit in April and then he will be returned to his original location. ACO Report • Francesca would like to order safety items for the shelter: Easy Nabber mesh tongs to help handle difficult cats, and a Plexiglas animal shield. Mansfield Shelter Friends offered to pay for the items. • Francesca would like to install a dog wash station in the dog quarantine room. She presented photos illustrating two possible configurations. M.S.F. will review the proposal and consider paying for the dog wash station. Adjournment Adjourned 7:10 p.m. Signature of Clerk Date: 3/21/2024 Page 2 of 2
