Approval of minutes
Jenn Walsh moved to accept minutes of Jan 18, 2024; Steve Schoonveld seconded Unanimous
Discussion of FY25
The primary focus was to prepare for the town budget sub meeting on Feb 81h. Assistant
Superintendent Ed Donoghue will present a budget power -point of level services with a 7%
increase in the budget. Enrollment data will also be provided. Superintendent Teresa
Murphy discussed the level services of other districts and how it compares to Mansfield.
The anticipate gap is approximately $3M. Health insurance anticipated at 6.5% increase.
Reductions are expected and class sizes were reviewed. Steve noted the importance of level
services and to remain competitive. The goal of reductions is to be educationally sound with
the least impact on students. Discussion held regarding free cash availability, stabilization
funds as well as a review of specific schedules and sections of the budget. Ed Donoghue will
watch for heat savings with the new MHS boiler and Spec Education outplacements which
continue to occur.

Ed has created a Statement of Interest to the MSBA for a Jordan/Jackson Roof Replacement.
The deadline is March V. The School Committee will need to vote on 2-6-24 with Select
board to vote on 2-21-24. The anticipated cost is approximately $4M.

Bidding of capital projects underway utilizing electronic bidding. Site visits are scheduled.
A curriculum grant received will alleviate the FY26 portion of Rob and JJ curriculum textbooks.
Food Service to purchase equipment and encumber funds
