The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
To approve the minutes from August 17, 2023. Passes.
Miscellaneous
Carol created a poster of plants and foods that are harmful to dogs and cats. We will have copies
made, and put the poster up at the shelter, as well as including it in take-home adoption packets.
Dogs
• Tiramisu — No court date has been set yet. Stools are better, no blood seen.
• Toby — The husky was surrendered because his owner is hospitalized, and can't take the dog
back. Toby is 2 yrs old. Only the ACOs are currently working with him.
• Nyla — Court date is Oct 4'h.
• Max — Had been living in a car with his owners. He is a 4 month old Rottweiler/Hound mix.
He is teething and nippy, but friendly. Max needs to be walked in a harness
• Woof— Has a possible good adoption application.
• Lana — The shepherd puppy might be adopted by a volunteer's family.
• Sharon recommended that we give bordetella to all incoming dogs.

Foxboro ACO Kaycee Bailey volunteered to do fecal exams on all incoming cats and dogs.
Sharon said she could also do the exams.

Shelter Maintenance
• The town approved the MSF funded project of covering the dog play area with crushed
stone.
• Carol will check the answering machine to see if the date of calls can be included in
messages.
• Mike Ahern has been notified that three faucet assemblies in the cattery are corroded and
need replacing, and that the cold water handle on one faucet does not turn water off
properly.
Grass and weeds have grown up around the HVAC compressors behind the shelter. The
greenery needs trimming for proper airflow to the compressors.
