The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve the minutes from July 20, 2023. Passes.
Cats
Surrendered cat Bella has records from Banfield that were emailed to us. Bella is current with
vaccines until September.
Dogs
• Minnie's adoption will be on Saturday.
• Carol reported that Woof has been at the shelter for five months, and no appropriate
applications have come in for him. His high energy requires the right home.
• Nyla's court case will come up soon.
• Tiramisu is being held while a court case is pending, but because of blood clots that have
been in her stools since she arrived, she will have another visit to the vet.

• Francesca plans to start an Instagram account, featuring activities of the A.C.O.
• An updated voice mail message is needed for the shelter phone, and Carol will take care of
it.

Volunteers
• Carol suggested that only one update per shift should be sent, not separate updates for
dogs and cats. She also requested that shift captains write update information in the
reception log. Carol will send an email to shift captains with these requests.
• Jeff has mentioned in the past that volunteers should be familiar with the basics of caring
for both dogs and cats, so that a cat shift captain can feed and clean on the dog side, and a
dog captain can feed and clean litter boxes on the cat side. Carol will include that
requirement, too, in her email to shift captains.
