A meeting of the Mansfield School Committee Budget Subcommittee was opened and called to order
at 6:04 p.m.

Lynn reviewed the charge of the committee (Policy BDE-R). Both Jenn and Lynn agyeed

for review of their respective subcommittees.

The committee reviewed at high level the MASC March 2023 newsletter on recommended changes.
Lynn will review and split the responsibilities between Jen and Lynn. To begin, Jeri will address
category D which are the financial policies. She will begin review of MASC vs Mansfield then meet
with Ed Donoghue and Deb Scott on suggested changes. Diane Nugent will get a list of policies and
MASC recommended changes to Jenifer.
The Public Speak policy (BEDH) was also discussed. The district will look into a new opening
statement for school committee meetings that describes how public speak works. It will be
informative yet encouraging to residents.
The committee reviewed the changes proposed to INJDB Responsible Use Policy. Action steps:
• Teresa to bring the changes to staff representative for review
• Diane to provide copies of grade level RUP documents to school committee
• Diane to follow up with Lori on failed Wi-Fi or field trips: how do we support medical needs
of students
• Diane to verify that Lori is available for July 18.
