• Jay Beckett, DPW, attended to discuss maintenance that will be needed at
Memorial Park and Plymouth Street Facilities.
He informed the Recreation Commissioners that he needs to work on the weeds in the
fields and overall field maintenance, seeding. The last time this was done was over 10
years ago. It will require subcontractors as there isn't enough DPW staff to do it. Costs
for everything has quadrupled and was asking that the Recreation Commissioners would
consider chipping in 50% of the cost and DPW will cover the other 50%. The total cost
for the Spring Work is $2,250,
Motion: By Ed Westhaver to approve the fee of $1,125 to the DPW for doing spring

• 2501" Celebration Committee Meeting Update: Linda McCabe informed the Recreation
Commissioners that she has been unable to attend recent meetings due to being on
vacation. She will have an update at the next meeting.
• Ms. Gurnon announced that Open Space Committee is looking for a representative from
the Recreation Commission. She asked that they reach out to her if they are interested.
• Sherri Gurnon mentioned that Plymouth Street/Memorial Park Tennis Courts need to be
refurbished. They are looking into Design & Construction Quotes. The current courts are
over 25 years old and there are increasingly more cervices. The costs are such, that the
costs will be brought up to the CIP Committee for approval.
• Ms. Gurnon brought to the attention of the Recreation Commissioners that there was an
unpermitted and unlicensed soccer camp held at Plymouth Street the week of July 10. It
was run by Resendes Soccer Academy, but the permit for that week and time was given to
Mansfield Youth Soccer and no permit was filled out or permission given to RSA for
their camp by the Mansfield Parks and Recreation, This indicates that MYS transferred
their permit which is not allowed under the Field Agreement that MYS signed. Mitch
Bregnard questioned Jackie McNamara about the group and the soccer camp. She stated
she was unaware of this; however, she did state that her son did attend the camp. Ms.
McNamara informed the Recreation Commissioners that MYS gained nothing financially

information back to her board to get more information regarding this matter.
