An Executive Session Meeting of the Mansfield School Committee was held inkh��iifi�e � nt's
Office @ 7:01 P.M. on March 9, 2010. A motion to open the Open Meeting was made by Mr. Michael
Trowbridge, 2"d by Mr. Frank DelVecchio with a roll call vote and called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman,
Mrs. Jean Miller. A Motion to go into Executive Session was made by Mr. Michael Trowbridge, 2"d by
Mr. Frank DelVecchio at 7:01 P.M., after which they will return to the Open Session.
Members Present — roll call vote to enter into Executive Session:
Mrs. Jean Miller, Chairman; yes
Mrs. Lisa Losiewicz, Vice Chairman; yes
Mr. Frank DelVecchio; yes
Mr. Michael Trowbridge; yes
Mr. Jim Perry, yes
Also Present:
Mrs. Brenda Hodges, Superintendent of Schools
Mr. Edward Vozzella, Director of Finance
Personnel update:
The Superintendent updated the Committee on an issue regarding a school employee. The Superintendent
felt that the incident could warrant dismissal, but she did recommend a two week suspension without pay
and a letter of reprimand in the employee's file. The School Committee did agree with Mrs. Hodges'
recommendation. The Superintendent will contact the employee of her decision.
The Committee was also informed by Superintendent Hodges that she was exploring an early retirement
incentive for as many as twenty two teachers and four custodians. Presently there are six teachers retiring
this year that have been made public along with two administers, David Farinella (41yrs.) and Pat
Cosgrove, who do not want their decisions to retire made public just yet, bringing a total of ;eight
retirements for the upcoming year. Mrs. Hodges will keep the Committee updated as she goes forward
with this incentive.
A motion was made to adjourn the Executive Session Meeting of March 9, 2010 at 7:40 P.M. for the sole
purpose of adjourning and re entering into Open Session. Motion by Mr. Michael Trowbridge, 2"d by Mrs.
Lisa Losiewicz. A Roll call vote was taken to close Executive Session :Jean Miller, yes: Lisa Losiewicz,
yes; Frank DelVecchio, yes: Michael Trowbridge, yes, Jim Perry, yes.
