Mansfield School Committee Meeting
Executive Session Minutes for Tuesday, May 8, 2018
Superintendent's Office
The open meeting session was opened and called to order by Kiera O'Neil at 6:31 pm.

Motion to enter Executive Session: Kiera O'Neil asked for a motion to enter into Executive Session
pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 30A, Section 21 for the Following Purpose: Under Exception No. 2, To
conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with nonunion personnel or to conduct
collective bargaining sessions or contract negotiations with nonunion personnel.

Teresa updated the committee on where we stood on assigning salaries to Assistant Principals.
At last meeting the committee asked Teresa to provide updated job descriptions. Teresa
noted that in the past two weeks it was not possible to sit all the administrators down to create
these descriptions. However, she provided the members with a document describing "A day in
the life of an assistant MHS principal."
Lauren Scher arrived.
One of the key issues is the large amount of hours that the principals spend during the evening
and weekends attending events, etc. Teresa would like to recognize these efforts and asked
the committee to provide a little leverage in applying salary increases.
The committee discussed the current and potential salaries. They asked if Teresa could work
with Jocelyn LeMaire to develop entry - midpoint - high range salaries for administrators.
They also noted that job descriptions need to be created and should be brief in nature.
Kiera O'Neil called for a motion to leave executive session, return to open meeting not to
return to executive session.
Motion to reenter open meeting at 6:59 p.m. by Jenn Walsh / Lauren Scher.
