Mansfield School Committee Meeting
~l Executive Session Minutes for Tuesday, April 06, 2021

The open meeting session was opened and called to order by Kiera O'Neil at 5:35 p.m.
Members Present: Administration Present:

Lynn Cavicchi, Vice Chair Michael Connolly, Assistant Superintendent of Schools
Linda Fernando Edward Donoghue, Assistant Superintendent of Schools

Members Absent: None
Under Exception No. 3: To discuss strategy with respect to collective bargaining or litigation if
an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the bargaining or litigating position of the
public body and the chair so declares.
Superintendent reviewed the status of Negotiations for Buildings & Grounds related to the
return of school. The negotiation team met last week to discuss:
• workload based on the doubled number of students
• a detailed plan for sanitizing
• overtime availability
• increased work effort to include nightly cleaning and sanitizing
• need for uniform cleaning practices across the district
• language regarding sick time due to work place exposure
It was noted that in July, the district will need to renegotiate all groups back to school in the fall
due to change in working conditions.
Teresa also noted that the MEA ratified the new MOU for Returning to school 5 days per week.
Kiera O'Neil called for a motion to leave executive session to return to open meeting.
