1. Open the Meeting: Neil opens meeting.
2. Magnets & Postcards
Discussion of postcards and or magnets for inside the house Christina priced it out for just the
text and it is fairly inexpensive; discussion of what should be included and the exact size;
Christina will price out what it would be for roughly 6000 — 8000 -- 6x8 postcard and a 6x8
magnet including the bulk postage for the postcard and for the mailing of the magnet.
3. Composting
Matt from the schools will update at September meeting.
Mike updates the composting at the Recycle Park. He says it is getting more and more
contaminated. Contractors use to pick it up screen it and the State use to use it for their mass
highway jobs to cover landfills, or the side of the highway etc. However, now we have to pay to
get rid of it.
Discussion circles back to getting information out to the residents and now maybe having all
information on a pamphlet including simple recycling; black earth etc.
Discussion turns to reducing cigarette butts in the area; Neil has some of the cigarette bins and
will talk with Josh about placement of such bins.
Neil asks for an update with regard to the Mansfield Green review. Mike states that we were
allotted $150,000 in capital improvements. CDM Smith is doing a high level review for the best
uses of the site including the landfill and will consider all possible uses. Should be done in
winter or spring of 2023. Discussion of what residents can pick-up from Recycle Compost area
such as wood chips etc.
4. Action Items
- Pricing on postcards and/or magnets for town residents;
- Research possibility of more in depth brochure with regard to all Town services such as
Simple Recycle; ReCollect; Waste Management; Mansfield Green; etc.
- Neil will get Christina the contact information for someone that designs stuff like that;
5. Questions & Comments
Mark asks about the upcoming changes to the mattress pick-up. As of November 1st Waste
Management will no longer be picking up mattresses. Josh has been reaching out to state
vendors with regard to what the Town will do with regard to mattress disposal. No plan as of
yet.
Next meeting will be on September 8, 2022.
Mike makes a motion to adjourn the meeting; Christina seconds motion; all in favor -meeting is
adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted
