from July 26, 2022 as written. Seconded by Chris Leard
Motion passes, 3-0.
3. Visitors: Kathy and Carl Haapaoja came to discuss the Parks and Recreation next step in
Pickleball courts after one year of playing at Plymouth Street. Ed Westhaver stated that
the response to Pickleball has been great and nice to see a program we provide has gained
popularity. Carl Haapaoja commented that the current situation, one court painted per
tennis court, having to use clamps to lower the tennis nets isn't really working. Kathy
Haapaoja would like to have two Pickleball courts painted per tennis court, and that
would allow accessibility to 6 courts versus the 3 currently there. Portable nets would
need to be purchased and stored. The logistics of that will have to be discussed by the
Recreation Commission. Sherri Gurnon stated that she would call vendors to get quotes
on the cost to paint and redo the current courts. Once those quotes are collected, the
Recreation Commission would discuss and vole on the project.
