Continue action plan discussion in June meeting New Logo Design Members reviewed latest logo designs and provided EC will ask if we can feedback. change the name from Local Mansfield Cultural Logos were numbered and team added their Council to Mansfield comments. Mark noted the feedback and will take Cultural Council. into consideration for next round of updates. Lisa Simons is the new person to ask. Various comments: Ribbon options (#4): o Addition of color is positive o Consider "Mansfield" in smaller or smaller font o Consider 1 less panel #5 options (box style) second option good — consider removal of "local' • Town seal should be last choice — not creative and not real town recognition associated with it #7A had positive feedback — especially if 'local' is removed Suggestion to use #6b for family fun night — blow up on a poster Do we need Local in the logo? What are the implications if any? What does the state call us? (Response: "Local' in their communications to us) Overall we decided we want color and we want green and we prefer to lose "LOCAL" from the logo if possible. Received one email for a July event: I Am at Uncommon Autistic • 7 people scheduled for April only 1 got back Website access needs to to Kelly be given to MPB and AC • Uncommon Theater: Adams Family end of April • Howard Newman musical show Moana — They did not put our logos in the brochure — contact Lisa Continuing Business: Updates: Downtown Committee 8 EC town manager email — officially we Mansfield Local Cultural Council 6 Park Row Mansfield, MA 02048 May 2, 2022 cannot wrap boxes • Tonight on 5/2, he said they have a written policy and will propose to select board this week • A procedure is needed due to going into the 250 anniversary and they want to do more public art • What about Avenue Concepts (Yaro Thorne) - what is his town procedure? • Maybe Yaro Thorne can give us some thoughts and ideas to work with town manager office. • It was mentioned it is difficult to get more art in town in general • Suggestion to contact Professor Kelly in Wheaton College for ideas on promotion Look for town banners on main street - note they are Planning Board small. Westside Benevolent Society — Nourish to Flourish — drives for food continuity in summer for at -risk children. This program is run out of JJ school. In July until school begins, there will be a drive at Shaws which fulfills "Humanities" theme for MLCC. They want to reduce their footprint; giving bottled water and donating coolers. PLANNING BOARD SF is the planning board representative. They have a couple of articles on warrant. Everyone should come to annual meeting and participate in town vote. Also watch/attend the meeting the night before — very informative. A new site plan approval process will be proposed. MLCC Events The Grantee Reception is June 15 at the Gazebo. It is a 2 step process to initiate. Parks and Rec and Select Board vote on Wednesday evening at 5:30 or 6:30 start time until 8:30pm. We will need: • To run/monitor a table • Organize state reps to sign somethings • Arrange food trucks or snacks • Consider John Underwood's Dream ice cream cart Mansfield Local Cultural Council 6 Park Row Mansfield, MA 02048 May 2, 2022 • Hometown bakery may be interested in selling goods - GG will check with her Items for consideration: • Who will invite community? • Consider Mailchimp — Melanie O'Malley used them • Bubbles • Tent pop -ups • Banners • Table clothes (2) • Call Access cable for advertisement • Entertainment — consider grant usage • Name tags — check with Marc's wife regarding calligraphy • Registration and tracking process • Check -in requires creating a list • Line-up awardees Family Fun Night —July 1211- Tuesday • Booth 6-9 • Needs: o Trash can barrel for town to paint — group project. Confirm what to paint on barrel o Need another paint project o Questionnaires to interview people o Signup sheet for membership o Lighting for the booth and painting projects o Add "culture drives growth..." statement on stickers Housekeeping/Folders/ EC handed out various cultural CDs etc. to the EC will reach out to Ed Binders team. CDs of various artists. Underwood regarding enlisting John's Dream Ice Physical binder documentation and storage was Cream cart. mentioned. In 2 years everything will be available electronically. Today binders have to be available for 5 years. GG will check with Hometown Bakery.
