RE: Forest Park Subdivision Deed Restrictions on
the use of Herbicides Pesticides and Fertilizer
Dear Mr. Lewis:
This letter is to confirm our discussion of Monday evening
regarding our desire to establish restrictioAs:or covenants on the
types of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers which should not
be used in a water protection district:-, As you know, the For.est
Park Subdivision i-s located within a water protection district.
We are interested in establishing the restriction in a
manner which will provide the eventual homeownerwithsound guidance
as to what is acceptable to use without mandating a blank pro-
hibition of all types. Blanket prohibitions, we believe, are
u.nenforcible. We would prefer to link the restriction to some
Published list which is issued and updated periodically' by the
Conservation Commission, EPA or other authoratative agency.
We wish to thank you for your assistance in this matter and
look forward to reaching a practical solution to this issue.
Respectfully,
Ronald J. Hornung (J

SUPERINTENDENT -

Planning Board

Gentlemen:
I would like to make a request that adequate protection be
provided to our water supply in West Mansfield.
A minimum distance of at least one hundred (1001) feet between
a septic system and drains on streams feeding into the Wading
River should be established.
The great expansion of the construction industry and land
development is creating deep concern for the safety of water
quality.
Any consideration you can give will he greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Burdon H. BLanchard

Dear Mr. Blanchard:
Some time ago you expressed a concern about septic systems in the Forest
Park Subdivision, as they relate to the Wading River (and, ultimately,
Attleboro's water supply).
The Board of Health would appreciate your comments on this project
before final approval is considered. Soil reports and a topographic
map of the subdivision are available at this office.

A reply within fifteen days would be appreciated. If you have any
questions, please do not hesitate to call on me.

RE: FOREST PARK ---SEPTIC SYSTEM DESIGNS
Dear Mr. Rosenberg:
The Broderick Corporation is redesigning the septic systems
in Forest Park to further protect the groundwater. The following
is a summary of the proposed changes that is a result of a
meeting with Scott Liete, Health Agent, on January 12, 1988.
Refer to master site plan attached.
1. Lots 32, 3-13: These lots are along Wading River.
Trenches will be used, located the furthest possible
distance from the river (between 3 to 4 times the
minimum permitted distance according to the Board of
Health Rules and Regulations).
2. Lots 31, 33-35, 40-42, 20-24, 14, 15: These lots will
use half -pits or flow diffusers.
3. Remaining lots: These lots wile half pits or full pits
depending on water table and ground elevations. (The
distance between the Albertini wells and the nearest lots
in Forest Park is approximately 650 feet.
The revised septic plans for lots 14, 15, 19 and 20 which include
half -pits or flow diffusers are being submitted under separate cover.
The average number of bedrooms in Forest Park will be less than
four. Twenty seven of the homes will have two bedrooms. The
remaining 118 homes will be split between three and four bedrooms.
(Our model home on Lot 77 will have three bedrooms.)
