The Department of Environmental Quality Engineering, Division of Hazardous Waste,
is in receipt of a Closure Certification Statement signed by a representative of your
company and submitted on your behalf by Thibault and Associates, Environmental
Engineers.
The submittal of this Closure Certification, was a provisional requirement of
the Closure Plan, approved by the Department on October 29, 1984, and is a requirement
of the Massachusetts Hazardous Waste Regulations. (:Reference 310 CMR 30.586)
The Certification submitted, certifies that closure of the facility was
supervised by Thibault and Associates and the work was performed in accordance with
the standards set forth in the approved closure plan.
Furthermore, an engineer from this office, on September 10, 1985, conducted an
inspection of the subject facility. Present during the inspection were representatives
of Sweet Manufacturing Company and Thibault and Associates,
Based on information submitted as part of the Certification of Closure and
visual observations made during the September 10, 1985, inspection, the Department
hereby certifies, in accordance with Section 30.586(.2) of the Hazardous Waste
Regulation contained in 310 CMR 30.000, that the facility has been closed as
stipulated in the approved closure plan.
This Certification in no way obviates the necessity that you comply with Civil
Action 40820 as filed in Suffolk Superior Court.
