A meeting of the Mansfield School Committee Facilities subcommittee was opened rjtt t order

Attendees: Lauren Scher, Linda Fernando, Ed Donoghue, Matt Jacques
Approval of Minutes
Facilities subcommittee minutes approved from:
• June 19, 2019 (2-0)
• August 22, 2019 (2-0)
• September 21, 2021 (2-0)
New Business
• CIP update
o Requests going to Town Meeting tonight; all requests have been on the 5-year plan
o Will relook at plan for an adjustment for the Spring Town Meeting
• MSBA Project update
o Invited to participate in MSBA Board of Directors meeting
o Approved to move forward with Boiler Project
o Will assign a design firm within the next couple of weeks once funding is approved at
tonight's Town Meeting
o Spring:
• Go to bid pending funding at Spring Town Meeting
• At meeting ask for project to be funded
• Order materials
o Goal would be to complete project during Summer'22 however will not cause any issue
if project spills into fall when students are in session
• Building's update
o Minor damage during last week's nor'easter; no major tree issue — did work in advance
in preparation for storm
MHS — lost flagpole, rain cover blew off which led to small holes in the roof. Has
been repaired
• QMS — some roof damage from tree branches. Has been repaired
• 1J/Rob—no damage
o Landscaping almost complete at 1J/Rob; waiting for additional stone
o Have not receive any classroom temperature complaints to -date. Paul provided
preventative maintenance which has been successful

• Other
o May want to consider some type of recognition for a job well done / those who go
above and beyond in an effort support well-being and employee satisfaction and
prevent attrition
o New custodian was hired 2 weeks ago; doing very well
o Receiving resumes for the additional open custodial position; once filled, the team will
be fully staffed
o Negotiations begin today for Custodians
