The meeting of the Community Service Awards Committee was called to order at 6:02pm by Chair Neil Rhein.
The previous meeting minutes were not distributed to the committee, so they will be taken up at the next meeting.
III; Review process for submitting, reviewing, and Judging award'nominations
Mr. Rhein reviewed that the committee had previously agreed that the Committee had agree to set a deadline of noon on
October 30" for this year's applications.
He stated that Nancy Griffin has created and posted an updated social media post for this year's application period to
Facebook and the Town's website. He asked Ms. Murphy to help with getting the word out in the schools and asked other
members to do what they could to get the word out as well.
V. Discuss and yofe nn;date"for 2020 awards
Mr. Rhein reminded the Committee members that the Committee had voted to maintain any applications they had
previously received for a period of three years, so applications received this year would be added to any applications
which are less than three years old.
Mr. Rhein summarized that the original plan was to always present the Community Service Awards around Thanksgiving
because we are thanking these people for their service. He suggested that the Committee members would individually
review the nominations, then the group would meet again in November as a group to decide on the winners, and then
present the awards sometime around Thanksgiving.
Mr. Rhein predicted that the awards night would need to be virtual. Mr. Rhein also offered that the Committee could hold
off until a date and time when the awards could be presented in person. Lt. Bain stated that he wholeheartedly agreed.
Ms. Murphy agreed. Mr. Rhein suggested that the Committee set a goal of meeting to select their winners sometime in
the first week of December. The date of Thursday, December 3`a was agreed upon as on that they would seek to reserve.
