Attendees: Jenkins, George, Barrows, Prestwich, Briggs & Riccio
The purpose of the meeting was a general review of where we are as aboard, discuss our vacant
position and address our Plan for 2002.
• We reviewed the application of Vincent Cutone. We all agreed he had a good
background and since he was our only unsolicited candidate determined he would be a
good fit. (has since been appointed to cable commission)
• We reviewed activity in town. Lowes is a potential tenant in the golden triangle, the
Home Depot site would likely be delayed for some time due to appeals by adjacent land
owners and we discussed the purchase of the former Motorola parcel in Cabot Park
• We spoke briefly about the Public Meeting concerning the tax rate. The board was
pleased to finally have an equalized rate with the residential and commercial rates. We
saw the move in a positive direction with regard to improving the perception of the town
being business friendly.
• We set our meeting schedule for January through May on the following Thursdays:
o January 31 2002'
o February 21 2002
o March 14 2002
o April 4, 2002
o April 25, 2002
o May 16, 2002
o Joint meeting with the Planning Board on February 6, 2002
• We discussed topics for the Meeting with the Planning Board as well as key items to
focus on for 2002. (to be narrowed down)
