MINUTES OF MEETING- March 21, 1973
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m.. Secretary Vicky Lawrence
and member Phil Huebner were not present; David Bryant acted as
Secretary for the evening. Minutes of the previous meeting were not
available and will be read and agreed to at the next regular meeting.
The questionnaires for a survey of downtown merchants were distributed
among the members, and the downtown area turas divided into five areas
for performing the survey. Each member will conduct the survey in one
of the five areas. David Bryant reported on telephone contacts he
had during the week with officials of the Massachusetts Department
of Public forks. DPW headquarters officials reported that Routes
140 and 25 will be built as planned, but design details are not com-A
pleted. The Mansfield sections of these roads will not be built for
at least 5 years, and other sections will be later. The Environmental
Impact Statement for these roads will be distributed in about a
month, and a copy will be sent to this committee. DPW District 6
engineer Walter Medeiros stated it is possible Mansfield will be
eligible for TOPICS and could possibly get a study if the Town acts
quickly. Chairman Bryant will pursue this with the Town Manager.
The next meeting of the committee was set for April It at 7-30.
Meeting was adjourned at 9-00 p.m..
