The Town of Mansfield will receive sealed bids for "RFB DPW19-830458 "Water Main
Lining South Main Street Bridge Overpass" at the DPW Office until 10:OOAM on March
29, 2019 at which time they shall be opened and read aloud.
All bids shall be in sealed envelopes with the words "RFB DPW19-830458 "Water Main
Lining South Main Street Bridge Overpass" on the front of the envelope.
A bid deposit in an amount that is not less than five percent (5%) of the value of the bid,
including all alternates, is required. Bid deposits, payable to the Town, shall be either in the
form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued
by, a responsible bank or trust company.
All bids are subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, §39M. Wages are subject to
minimum wage rates determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards
pursuant to M.G.L. c149, 526 to 27H. The schedule of wage rates applicable to this contract
is included in the bidding documents. The successful bidder will be required to provide a
Certificate of Insurance demonstrating current coverage of the type and amounts set forth in
the Project Manual. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Labor and
Materials Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the total contract.

responsibility of the contractor, subcontractor, vendor, individual and/or corporation to

Time for completion of this project is on or before June 30, 2019. Time is of the essence
in the performance of the work of this contract. Bidder's attention is directed to the time for
completion stated in the Project specifications and the provisions regarding the assessment
of liquidated damages for failure to complete the work within the time specified.
All inquiries regarding the information contained in this Request for Bids shall be directed to
the Project Manager, Michael Ahern. All questions must be submitted in writing and sent via
certified mail or equivalent. The deadline for questions will be 10:OOAM on March 22, 2019.
The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids in accordance with the applicable
General Laws. In addition, the Town reserves the right to waive any informality in any or all
bids, or to reject any or all bids (in whole or in part) if it be in the public interest to do so.
