Local Cultural Council Project Updates and discussion Discussion ensued on the ideas for a LCC Project. Eileen reminded the group that the project needed to be done in cooperation with another town committee or department and provide public benefit. We should also consider the town's application for Cultural District status with the MCC in our planning process. Specifically, (1) Equipmentfor Mansfield Cable. Mansfield Cable not in need of equipment; rather, they would welcome programming from our grant recipients. (2) Poetry Walk. This could be designed for either the Bike Path (handicapped accessible) or the Fulton Pond Area. Would need a partner agency. (3) Moveable Sculptures. This project could be a cooperative effort with the Downtown Committee or it could be modeled using the Avenue Concept from Rhode Island. (4) Original plan of Cultural District Committee. A plan was developed to add vibrance to the Cultural District such as window displays and inter -generational art exhibits. (5) A tour of historic buildings and sites in Mansfield. This would build on the calendar project we completed with the Historical Commission. Reporting Responsibilities Eileen reported that the Annual Report has been successfully submitted to the Mass Cultural Council (MCC). Thirty award letters were sent out. Recipients were very appreciative of their grants. Laura Canfield will be revising her grant request replacing the musical Into the Woods. When the LCC receives the re -submission, we will need to vote on its approval. Publicicity Kelly will prepare a press release to announce the 2021 grant recipients. Kelly will also be working on increasing the posts on our Instagram account. Eileen suggested that we could post information about upcoming programs offered by our grant recipients on Instagram and other social media.
