Dear Sir:
The Southeast Regional office of the Department of Environmental Quality
Engineering is in receipt of your correspondence. of December 16, 1982. It is the
Department's understanding that, you have installed a, new scavenger system manufactured
by Oil Recovery Systems Inc. The Department requested that copies of the operating
specifications be sent for our files. We would also like to ]mow under whose guide-
lines and supervision the new system was installed. Al, this time the results do not
appear to be very impressive and a need to re --evaluate the recovery operations may be
in order.
The Department of Environmental Quality Engineering would also like to bring to
your attention that Philip S. Ripa of thin office is no longer involved in oil or
Hazardous materials related matters. All correspondence on these matters should be
directed to the attention of Robert E. Donovan, Deputy Regional Environmental Engineer.
One of the Hazardous Materials staff, Michael F. Conway, will be taking over the
Dopartment's evaluation of the cleanup operations and will be :in contact with you at
lute- elate. It is also requested that copies of all future correspondence with this
0 f ce be sent to the appropriate local authorities, :i.e. Board of Health, Conservation
COtIllII1.ssion and .Local Hazardous Waste Coordinators.
