TOWN OF MANSFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS 50 West Street, Mansfield, MA 02048 February 12, 1986 Mr. Nijah Chinn 1640 Sunset Avenue Apt. h4 W. Covina, CA. 91790 Dear Mr. Chinn: RE: Failed Septic System`- 348 Mill Street, Mansfield, MA 02048 The system mentioned above must be repaired immediately. I don't think you realize the gravity of the situation, so let me describe the condi- tion. The system had failed and an attempt was made to repair it. What exists now is roughly a 6' x 6' pit (depth undeterminable) filled with raw sewage. It is not only an extremely hazardous health situation, but it is a physical danger to children and pets; they could drown in the sewage. You have ten (10) days from receipt of this letter to begin repairs and notify me of such action, at the end of that time I will order the work done and charge you accordingly. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at: (617) 339-5021. DSIncerelytLeite, Health Agent SL/crt certified mail: P 444 072 591 1640 Sunset Ave. Apt. 4 W. Covina, CA. 91790 Jan. 12, 1986 Mr. Scott Leite, Health Agent, Town of Mansfield, 50 West St. , Mansfield, MA. 02048 Re: 348 Mill St. Dear Mr. Leite: I am responding to your letter dated December 27, 1985, recieved by me on January 8, 1986 in regard to septic discharge onto the ground. This property is currently being renovated and inspectors have visited the property to set specifications for a new cesspool to be dug. Efforts were made in the fall to dig a cesspool site, but due to excessive rock, equipment used would not penetrate. All major contractors contacted were not available during the fall months to complete the system with heavier equipment. At this time frozen ground makes it impossible to dig at the site. All efforts will be made to cover the discharge, but ground breaking will not be possible until the spring. Please contact me at the above address for further correspondence and prompter replies. Thank you. Sincerely, Nijah Chinn for Ethelyn Chinn.
