Vice -Chair, Lou Amoruso; Secretary, Sean Grammel; Treasurer, Connie Baynes; member,Jeffrey
Wagner. Absent were Chair Randy Waters; member, Marilyn Lewis; member, Lee Ann
Cerretani. Lee Ann later arrived at 7:11 PM. The meeting was held in the MBC meeting room at
Town Hall and called to order by Lou at 6:35 PM.
The minutes for the September 2019 meeting were reviewed. One addition was proposed: the
text of the Mission Statement voted on in September. With that addition, Lou moved that the
minutes be approved, with Jeff seconding. Sean abstained because of his absence at the
September meeting. Vote was approved unanimously.
The Treasurer's report for September 2019 was reviewed. Connie reported no expenses in
August 2019. The account had gained $1,742.25 in August, leaving the total at $457,197.88.
Sean moved that the Treasurer's report be accepted, with Lou seconding. The vote passed
unanimously.
The Board discussed selecting a new Treasurer, after Connie's decision to step down from her
position. The Board initially decided to postpone this discussion until more members were
present, but later voted on this issue after Lee Ann arrived.
The Board decided to postpone a review of the potential land acquisitions until more members
were present.
The Board then moved to new business. Lou provided an update on the Master Plan for the
town. He explained the role of the Committee on which he serves and the progress the town
made on the last Master Plan. He mentioned an upcoming workshop to which the entire town
was invited to provide feedback.
The Board then briefly discussed the different areas in town that could be sites for acquisitions:
the reservoir area and Erick Road. According to Lou, members of the town administration have
previously discussed the reservoir area as a site for development, so there may be interest in
having the Board pursue development there. Lou further mentioned he had talked with John
Walsh, who was generally interested in partnering with the Board.
Connie then questioned why the MHC was involved in booking a meeting space for the lottery
for the new affordable units in town, and Lou explained the process that led to that meeting.
He also indicated that we are invited to the lottery on 11/20 and we could be involved in pulling
the winning lottery numbers.
After Lee Ann arrived, she was asked if she would be willing to serve as Treasurer for the Board
and she agreed. Connie nominated her as Treasurer and Jeff seconded. The vote passed
unanimously. Connie indicated she would love to continue serving on the Board but will be
absent from meetings from January through April 2020.
The Board discussed a date of 11/20 the next meeting, which would coincide with the
affordable housing lottery at the Airport Meeting Room. Connie moved for adjournment,
seconded by Sean. Passed unanimously at 7:32 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Sean Gramme[, Secretary
