Minutes for December 9, 2020
Virtual Meeting
A meeting of the Mansfield School Committee Budget Subcommittee was opened and called to order at
6 p.m. The meeting was held via Zoom.
SC Members Present: Lynn Cavicchi, Jenn Walsh
Others present: Teresa Murphy, Superintendent
Approval of Minutes
Policy Subcommittee Minutes dated 11/17/20, approved, 2-0.
Old Business
Non -Discrimination Policy and related policies regarding harassment policies

• Harassment -Administrative Investigative Procedures (AC-R)
• Bullying Prevention and Intervention policy and plan
• Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Intervention policy and plan
Teresa has reviewed the non-discrimination and bullying, harassment, and teen dating violence policies
with legal counsel and administrative team. These policies are ready to move to the full School
Committee for consideration. Teresa will coordinate with Diane Nugent on this for the meeting agenda.
The group agreed that incorporating gender neutral language whenever possible would be appropriate,
especially with non-discrimination policies.
Diane Nugent is checking with Felicia about wording for non-discrimination statement on letterhead.
Teresa noted that additional training around non-discrimination/harassment through the law firm of
legal counsel for the district will take place for administrative leadership team.
New Business
Website Accessibility policy -Teresa said that she has discussed this policy with Lori Letendre, Directory
of Technology. Lori would like to do a little more research on it but felt we were in good shape. Teresa
noted that district legal counsel has recommended having that policy in place as soon as possible.

JEB School Entrance Age - Diane Nugent and Dyana Bogdan will be meeting with Robinson principal Kerri
Sankey to discuss. Teresa's recommendation is that we hold off on reviewing this until after the meeting
with Kerri.
1LDAA Confidentiality of Communication between Professional Staff and Students and JLIA
Responsibilities for Supervision of Classes, Home Room, and Student Activities. These are on hold until
January to allow the administrative team to review at their next leadership meeting.
Civic engagement and school attendance - Teresa recommended putting this on hold, for discussion
with Mary Watkins at MHS and with MHS student leaders.
Update on Other Priority Areas Under Review for 2020-21
1LCEB AED Program - Lynn will plan to send this to Christine Dooling, district nurse leader/director of
health services, prior to the December vacation.
The group will set priorities for the spring term at our January meeting.
