Resident Questions & Comments — None at the present time. 4. Discussion & Development of a Resident Trash & Recycling Survey - Discussion about conducting a survey of the residents of Mansfield to get their opinions and ideas about trash and recycling. Several different towns have done surveys and they are reviewed and discussed for several ideas and avenues. It is discussed that there should be a brief introductory section with information; then a brief survey with an open-ended question at the end. Long discussion about what Town is looking to receive back from the survey; what should be included; discussion about using survey monkey; and many other issues; all points are noted in Steve's spreadsheet with regard to survey information. Discussion about how the survey would be issued to the public. Ideas include social media; town website; electronic billboards that the town is currently using for covid; maybe doing a newspaper article about the committee then direct people to survey at the end; many different ideas are discussed. Christina, Lee, Mike and maybe Kathy will come up with the initial questions and forward them to the rest of the committee for comment and by the next meeting will have a set survey to review, which hopefully can get sent out by February 1" 2021. 5. Discussion of Trash & Recycling Change Proposals for Inclusion in the RFP Discussion about getting the RFP ready for April and what Committee wants included in that RFP. Kathi mentions that wording may help in the way certain things are received by the public; such as instead of pay as you throw program it could be referred to a waste reduction program. She also mentions that there may be grants available for the replacement/distribution of new carts; last year Wrentham and Norwell both used this grant to replace their toters with 35 gallon toters. Discussion as to time frame and what the RFP will look like continued. 6. Items Not Known 48 Business Hours Prior to Meeting — Mike brings it up that someone reached out to him to inform him that a commercial building is being serviced and it has over 10 units; currently only up to 4 units should be serviced by Waste Management through the Town's present contract. Discussion ensues about doing a town wide audit once a new contract is in place. This wil be a good opportunity to dermine if compliance is in line with the present bylaws. A complete inventory of who should and shouldn't be on service will have to take place when contract changes. Neil brings up the fact about maybe doing some recycling posts geared toward the holiday season; with regard to wrapping paper, tissue paper, etc.; maybe Jessica can help get creative; also, that Recycle Smart can be used to see what can be recycled and what goes in trash; Christina lets Neil know that we have started with the social media posts about recycling geared towards the holidays. Also, old Christmas lights can be brought to the green once the bulbs are taken out; and aluminum foil is recyclable, if clean. 7. Committee Members Questions & Comments It is noted that the Town Manager has joined the meeting; Christina — no; Jack — no; Mike — no; Lee — no; Neil — all set; Steve — no; Kevin — no; Kathi is all set too. 8.
