HomeMy WebLinkAboutSchool Comm. 11/19/2021approved 12-9.20 Mansfield School Committee Policy Subcommittee Meeting Minutes for November 19, 2020 - Virtual Meeting r} i A meeting of the Mansfield School Committee Policy Subcommittee was opened and called to order at 5:08 p.m. The meeting was held via Zoom. SC Members Present: Lynn Cavicchi, Jenn Walsh Others present: Teresa Murphy, Superintendent Approval of Minutes Policy Subcommittee Minutes dated October 22, 2020 were approved, 2-0. Old Business Non -Discrimination Policy and related policies regarding harrasment policies. Teresa will schedule a meeting with district legal counsel to discuss their recommendations for the following: • AC/Non Discrimination • ACA/Non-Discrimination on Basis of Sex • ACE/Non-Discrimination on Basis of Handicap • Harassment Administrative Procedures Teresa also will check with legal counsel regarding Bullying Intervention Policy and Plan and Teen Dating Violence Policy and Plan. Health -related policies • JLCEB AED Program -Lynn will check with Christine Dooling to review. • JLCEA Comfort Care/DNR Orders and 1LCEC and 1LCEC-R Life -Threatening Allergies - Christine Dooling has reviewed both policies, and they are ready to move forward to the full School Committee for consideration. Other Section J Policies Under Review • JEB School Entrance Age - policy is under review by Robinson administration • JLDAA Confidentiality of Communication between Professional Staff and Students and JLIA Responsibilities for Supervision of Classes, Home Room, and Student Activities - Teresa will bring to the administrative leadership team to review. Update on Other Priority Areas Under Review for 2020-21 n/a Mansfield School Committee Policy Subcommittee Meeting Minutes for November 19, 2020 Virtual Meeting New Business approved 12-9-20 • Website Accessibility policy - Teresa will discuss with Lori Letendre, Julia Greenstine, Stacey Gottfried, and Diane Nugent in Central Office. • Civic engagement and school attendance (as recommended by Moving Mansfield Schools Forward group) - Teresa will discuss with Mary about bringing this to the high school advisory groups for input from student leaders and to gauge student interest.
