A task force met to develop a
draft of the Community
Outreach Survey. The state
requires that a survey be
done on an annual basis.
Results from the survey help
develop Council priorities.
Melanie presented the draft
survey. The survey was
based on the state cultural
council template and the
previous local cultural council
survey.
Melanie noted that the
objectives were to (1) clearly
state MLCC's mission and
the purpose of the survey; (2)
encourage participation by
being clear and easy to use
and quick to fill out; and (3)
direct community members,
potential council members,
and artists to additional
information.
Approved unanimously via
Roll Call vote with
abstentions from Vivian and
Melanie (had not yet been
sworn in at the last meeting).
Approved unanimously via
roll call vote.
Melanie reviewed the details.
A discussion ensued with
suggestions made about
program categories and
targeted populations.
Melanie will integrate the
suggestions and send to all
members. Abe will then
begin working on an
interactive questionnaire.
Lisa shared that the Mass
Cultural Council is offering a
seminar on Racial Equity.
She posted the link in the
chat box.
Downtown Committee
Eileen discussed the
Update
progress on the train climbing
sculpture. She noted that an
additional $300 will be
needed to make the sculpture
handicapped accessible.
Cultural District Committee
Gail reported that the Chair of
Update
the Mass Cultural Council
had resigned and that no
further progress could be
made on Mansfield's Cultural
District application until a new
Chair was selected. The
Chair has an obligation to
read the Town's application
and make a site visit prior to
granting approval.
