Request for Bids
The Town of Mansfield, invites sealed bids from for the "RFB# DPW18-112 Memorial Hall
Restoration Phase 2' in Mansfield, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents
prepared by TBA Architects, Inc. The Town of Mansfield will receive sealed bids as listed below
at which time they shall be opened and read aloud at the Mansfield DPW office, Six Park Row,
Mansfield, MA. Bids must be in a sealed envelope and on the outside be clearly marked with
the date and description of the bid. Bids received after the hour named will not be considered.
The Project consists of: Restoration and repair of existing windows, doors and associated trim,
removal of existing wood shed and replacement with a bulkhead, and masonry repair. Alternate
#1 includes decorative shingle replacement and trim repair.
Base Bid scope of is estimated to cost $268,000.
Add Alternate #1 scope of is estimated to cost $256,000.
Add Alternate #2 scope of is estimated to cost $14,700.
Base Bid + Add Alternate #1 + Add Alternate #2 scope total is estimated to cost $538,700.
General bidders must be certified by the Divisiork of Capital Asset Management and
Maintenance (DCAMM) in the category of Historic Building Preservation and Historic
Masonry. General Bidders must include a current DCAMM Prime Contractor Certificate of
Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Prime Contractor Update Statement. Special experience
requirements are identified in specifications sections 062013, 074624, 086100 and 099000.
Wage rates as determined by the Mass. Commissioners of the Department of Labor and
Industries apply to this project. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount
that is no less than five (5%) percent of the proposal amount made payable to The Town of
Mansfield. Bid deposits shall be either a certified check, bid bond, treasurer's check or cashier's
check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. A Performance Bond, Payment Bond and
Certificate of Insurance will be required. Bidding procedures shall be in accordance with the
General Laws, Chapter 149 Section 44A through 44J as most recently amended, and other
applicable laws.
